Preparing your hair beforehand
Before an ARTAS® transplant, the hair needs to be trimmed to 1 mm. This makes both harvesting and implantation easier.
Permanence of the result
The result of the ARTAS® method is permanent. Follicles are taken from the back of the head and placed into the thinning areas on top. These hairs are typically unaffected by hormonal change, so they stay for good.
Postoperative Schmerzen
An ARTAS® robotic transplant is not normally painful. It is carried out as an outpatient under local anaesthetic. Mild swelling occurs occasionally and can usually be managed with ibuprofen within one to three days.
Scarring
Unlike FUT, which removes a strip of skin, the ARTAS® method leaves no visible scarring, only minimal puncture points where the hair was taken.
Length of the procedure
An ARTAS® robotic transplant usually takes between four and eight hours, depending on how many hairs are being moved. The robot can harvest around 1,000 grafts per hour.

During the procedure you sit comfortably and can pass the time watching a film or reading.
