How it works
Dutasteride mesotherapy is an effective treatment for hair loss in which dutasteride is injected directly into the scalp. The injection creates a reservoir in the scalp itself, suppressing DHT production locally and so acting directly on the cause of androgenetic hair loss.
Because systemic exposure is close to zero, side effects are very largely avoided, a decisive difference from the oral route, where the drug travels through the whole body. From the third session onwards, growth improves and shedding drops noticeably.
Dutasteride is delivered into the scalp by fine micro-injections, precisely into the affected areas.
The active stays in the scalp as a reservoir and works continuously on the spot, without passing into the bloodstream to any meaningful degree.

Side-effect profile
The decisive advantage over taking it orally: the active stays local, in the injection reservoir, and barely enters the bloodstream. That reduces the risk of the systemic side effects described with oral finasteride or dutasteride to a minimum.
A schematic comparison. Taking 5α-reductase inhibitors orally distributes the drug throughout the body. With mesotherapy it stays largely in the local reservoir, so systemic exposure, and with it the risk of body-wide side effects, is markedly lower.
Mechanism of action
The diagram shows schematically where the active ends up: below the epidermis, in the dermis, right at the base of the follicle. The reservoir releases dutasteride steadily over days, blocking the local conversion of testosterone into DHT.
