Dutasteride mesotherapy, derma utoquai Zurich

Dutasteride mesotherapy · derma utoquai Zurich

Inhibit DHT where the hair loss actually starts.

Dutasteride is injected into the scalp, where it forms a local reservoir. It suppresses DHT production right at the root, with almost no systemic exposure, which means side effects are very largely avoided.

How it works

A reservoir, not a tablet.

Dutasteride mesotherapy is an effective treatment for hair loss in which dutasteride is injected directly into the scalp. The injection creates a reservoir in the scalp itself, suppressing DHT production locally and so acting directly on the cause of androgenetic hair loss.

Because systemic exposure is close to zero, side effects are very largely avoided, a decisive difference from the oral route, where the drug travels through the whole body. From the third session onwards, growth improves and shedding drops noticeably.

01

Gezielte Injection

Dutasteride is delivered into the scalp by fine micro-injections, precisely into the affected areas.

02

Lokales Depot

The active stays in the scalp as a reservoir and works continuously on the spot, without passing into the bloodstream to any meaningful degree.

03

DHT inhibition at the root

Suppressing DHT locally tackles the cause of androgenetic hair loss directly.

Side-effect profile

Effective with virtually no systemic load.

The decisive advantage over taking it orally: the active stays local, in the injection reservoir, and barely enters the bloodstream. That reduces the risk of the systemic side effects described with oral finasteride or dutasteride to a minimum.

A schematic comparison. Taking 5α-reductase inhibitors orally distributes the drug throughout the body. With mesotherapy it stays largely in the local reservoir, so systemic exposure, and with it the risk of body-wide side effects, is markedly lower.

Mechanism of action

1–2 mm. Right at the follicle.

The diagram shows schematically where the active ends up: below the epidermis, in the dermis, right at the base of the follicle. The reservoir releases dutasteride steadily over days, blocking the local conversion of testosterone into DHT.

An alternative to finasteride.

  • Especially suited to men who want to lower DHT locally without taking finasteride
  • Dutasteride is injected into the scalp and forms a local reservoir with almost no systemic exposure
  • Treatment schedule: four sessions in the first three months, then every three months

Frequently asked questions

How does dutasteride mesotherapy work?

Dutasteride is injected straight into the scalp, forming a local reservoir that blocks the conversion of testosterone into DHT at the root.

Who is the treatment for?

Particularly for men with androgenetic hair loss who would rather not take finasteride orally.

Does the treatment have side effects?

Because systemic exposure is close to zero, side effects almost never occur.

How long does a session take?

About 20 minutes. No anaesthetic is required.

When will I see first results?

First improvements show within a few weeks, with the full effect developing over months.

How often does it need repeating?

Four sessions in the first three months, then a maintenance treatment every three months.

Can I go straight back to normal afterwards?

Yes, there is no recovery period. You can exercise straight away and wash your hair after eight hours.
